Just like Blogger.com (aka Blogspot Blog), Wordpress also offers a free blogging account. I started my blogging career using Blogger account and then decided to go for Wordpress because there is some many things you can do with it. If you have not use Wordpress before, it can be very scary. I did a search on Youtube and found a very good Wordpress Tutorial video for beginner. Check out the video below:

I learn Wordpress mainly from trial and error. I am a perfectionist, hence I like my blog to be clean and tidy. Sometimes that can really slow me down trying to make everything look nice on my blog.

I decided to learn Wordpress back in September 2008. I still remember, I bought Wordpress Adsense System e-book from a top Malaysian blogger, Gobala Krishnan and locked myself in my room for 2 days to learn the blogging platform. The whole process was post, test, edit and post again. Because Wordpress uses php coding, changing the template was a bit tricky. Luckily I have some knowledge on html language, after a while, the php codes start to make sense and I was able to do more editing on the template. A lot of people I have met are really intrigued by the idea of making money from the internet. However, most do not know where or how to get started. My recommendation to them is always start with the route of affiliate marketing. Some proactive ones do get started with their online affiliate business. However, their results were pretty dismay. It is not that the idea of affiliate marketing does not work, it is a matter of lack of information, knowledge and skill.

Most internet newbies quit their affiliate business due to one make reason…they can’t generate enough traffic to their affiliate web page to generate sales. I had the same problem in the beginning. There are two school of thoughts on which blogging platform is the best. I’ve started off blogging using a Blogger.com account (Blogspot.com) but after a while I wanted something more. If you are planning to venture into internet marketing, you will soon realized that in order for you to earn your commission, you have to learn how to drive traffic to either your own website or to your affiliate link. There are two ways how you can generate traffic to your web business. You can either use the paid method of Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising or the free method of “Article Marketing”. If you are planning to use article marketing, you will need some tool to assist you. This article will reveal a hidden article marketing tool offered to all Wealthy Affiliate members. Rapid Writer is basically an article marketer best friend. Rapid Writer does not automatically create articles for you per se, but it does reduce the time required to write an original article. I personally like article marketing because it brings in free traffic. The article directories that I usually submit to is www.ezinearticles.com. It is one of the top directories and has a high PageRank. Most of my keywords targeted articles submitted to www.ezinearticles.com are listed on the first page of Google Search results. Some useful directories that you can submit your articles are www.Goarticles.com, www.Searchwarp.com, www.Articlebase.com etc. As a rule of thumb, you should write articles between 350 words to 500 words long. The main component of article marketing is the Resource Box. Make sure you include your web business URL in your articles to bring in the unique visitors.
